
French paintings since the 19th century, paintings by modern foreign artists, and oil paintings, Japanese style paintings, calligraphic art, etc. Local works and other Japanese artists have been collected and exhibited here.
Especially, precious and treasured works by Seiki Kuroda and Takeji Fujishima. The museum was established and opened on April 27, 1983 with the principle, 'to found an affluent home'. The museums' vision is also to hope to improve the culture of southern Japan and social welfare. Please take your time and appreciate the entire collection.

Papua New Guinean folk art, Satogaerino Kosatsuma (Return of old Satsuma), Akita (Imari) porcelains and more have been collected and exhibited here. Particularly, Papuan folk art has been collected and furnished by Mr. Yohachiro Iwasaki. He made his endeavors to develop a great resort in Australia, during his numerous visits to Australia where he was impressed by its energetic art form. He hoped that a lot of people would enjoy these precious art works. We hope that our collection will touch your heart.
